Being cooped up in the midst of the snowstorm of the year was too much to handle for the six to eight horses that broke free from their lodgings and cavorted near the Octopus Car Wash, 2202 University Ave., only to be captured approximately one hour later
According to a Madison Police Department press release titled 'Horses Gone Wild,' the horses were reported on the loose near University Avenue and Campus Drive shortly after noon. Madison Police Department Public Information Officer Mike Hanson said the horses were quickly corralled by police officers and animal control.
'Within an hour, they were corralled in safe arms again,' Hanson said. 'They either lassoed them or used food to corral them, but I don't know for sure.'
The press release reported the horses were owned by UW-Madison.
