One of the best performances of the night came from freshman Yi Ting Siow, who broke the pool record with a 2:14.51 in the 200-yard breaststroke. ""It's awesome,"" she said, referring to the milestone. ""I was planning to do that.""
Coach Eric Hansen was happy with his team's performance. ""Everyone has been training so hard,"" he said. ""It's great to see everybody come together as a team and swim inspired.""
Though proud of their first Big Ten win, Hansen maintained national focus. ""We put all of our eggs in the NCAA basket,"" Hansen said. ""We think we can go farther than we have before and we talk about it every day.""
The women will attempt to repeat their success at the SMU Classic in Dallas, while the men will travel to Tucson, Ariz. to declaw the Arizona Wildcats.
