Recall points to political flaws

I am not a political scientist, nor am I a resident of California. But I am someone who has a basic working knowledge of our political system.??The recall election in California baffles me. Not the fact that the Terminator is now the governor, more power to him.??What leaves my mouth agape is the way it all came about.??As everyone has probably heard a million times over on CNN, more people actually voted to keep Gray Davis in office than voted for Schwarzenegger.

But what is our response to this' Political commentators seem to only tilt their heads, nod and say something to the effect of, \Yes.?? This is a flaw in the system."" This recall election should cause all Americans to take a good long look at our political systems-systems we have in place to make our government a democratic one, and then ask if the job is getting done.?? There is a flaw in the system, and no one seems to care.??I would like to say proudly that I live in a democracy and that the system works on all levels.??Why don't we care that it doesn't?
