Democratic presidential hopeful Howard Dean, who vocally opposes military involvement in Iraq, is scheduled to make his first campus campaign appearance Sunday, Oct. 4 on the lawn of the Kohl Center at 4 p.m.
UW-Madison's Students For Dean is organizing the event and will randomly select two campaign volunteers to introduce Dean before his speech.
The American Civil Liberties Union filed a lawsuit with a federal court in Pennsylvania Tuesday on behalf of four anti-Bush advocacy groups that claimed the Secret Service forced them into areas where they could not be seen by the president.
According to the ACLU, the Secret Service violated the rights of protesters by allowing those with pro-Bush statements to remain closer to the President but pushing anti-Bush protesters into designated \protest zones.\
