Wisconsin assistant men's basketball coach Tony Bennett announced Thursday that he will not consider filling the vacant head coaching job at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.
Bennett, who had been contacted by UWGB Athletic Director Ken Bothof about the position, has decided not to consider the position. The 32-year-old UWGB graduate just wrapped up his second year as UW-Madison assistant coach. In his second year, the Badgers made it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
\I appreciate UW-Green Bay's interest in me as a potential candidate,"" Bennett said in a news release. ""I have decided at this time in my coaching career that I will not be pursuing that position. I am excited about being here at Wisconsin to continue working with Head Coach [Bo] Ryan, the staff, the young men in this program and the potential players we are recruiting.""
