The 110-story towers of the World Trade Center may be replaced by buildings half that height along with a memorial in as little as five years, according to the holder of the site's $3.2 billion lease.
If the events of Sept. 11 are considered separate acts of terrorism, one having occurred when the terrorists crashed a plane into the first tower and a second when they crashed into the other tower, insurance companies will pay $7.2 billion to rebuild the Trade Center.
