The Daily Cardinal runs a post pattern with college football's leading wide receiver, Wisconsin junior Lee Evans.
Evans has 19 receptions for 485 yards and three touchdowns in the Badgers' first three games this season.
Since the issue has been virtually unavoidable the past week, I was wondering what your reactions were to -everything that has taken place in both New York City and Washington, D.C., regarding the terrorist attacks? How it will it affect your preparation for this week's game?
It's a horrific series of events that happened. For some, it touched home closer than others. I was fortunate not to have anyone too close to it. As unfortunate as it was, we have to be able to move on. We can't sit in a little hole all our lives. We came out this week to play football and everyone's good to go.
Do you think the extra time off will help you against Penn State?
Oh, definitely. The more time you have, the better, because it gives you a lot more time to do everything, from preparing to resting, everything.
Over the first three games of the season, you have averaged 162 receiving yards per game. That's third in the nation. Can you and do you expect to keep those sorts of numbers up for the rest of the season?
I expect to play well enough to win. The last two games, we didn't win the games and that's the most important thing. It doesn't really matter if I start catching 200 yards a game if we're not winning.
Do you feel the switching between quarterbacks has affected your play at all?
No, you know, I've caught many passes from both quarterbacks. It really doesn't matter which quarterback is in the game. It's just a matter of catching the ball when it comes to you.
Despite the 1-2 start, the team'and especially you'has shown a lot of promise. What are your expectations for the rest of season?
Well, we learned a lot of lessons from the last couple games [about] some things we weren't doing and [we weren't] able to correct ourselves. And coming into the Big Ten season'that's why you come to the Big Ten to play football. So now it's time to get your nose up and play ball.
I know you must not think of football all the time, so what do you like to do when you're not playing football?
Golf, bowling. I like to watch movies. And go out and hang around friends.
Let's get into some favorites questions. What's your favorite food?
I'd say my favorite food is shrimp fettuccini alfredo.
Television show?
'Martin.'
If you could be a superhero, who would it be and why?
Probably Superman. You know, he portrays himself like a normal citizen, but when it comes time for him to do his business, he turns into Superman.
Speaking of heroes, who has been a hero or an extremely influential person in your life?
My dad. He's the type of guy who works for everything. He wasn't really given much, so it's about him earning what he wanted.
