The two candidates running for the District 8 City Council seat will be holding separate campaign kickoff events tonight.
Incumbent Mike Staude will formally announce the start of his reelection campaign at an event to begin at 8 p.m. in the Parlor Room of Elizabeth Waters Residence Hall. Staude is expected to speak to supporters about his student agenda for the upcoming campaign.
Challenger Todd Jarrell will be holding a kickoff event in the Memorial Union Great Hall at 7 p.m. A number of local elected officials are scheduled to appear in support of Jarrell. The band Kral Majal will provide entertainment.
