Rebecca Blank selects interim vice chancellor for finance and administration

UW-Madison Chancellor Rebecca Blank appointed Michael Lehman as interim vice chancellor for finance and administration Tuesday.

Lehman graduated from the university in 1974 and has since held several executive positions in finance. He is a board member of both the University of Wisconsin Foundation and the Nicholas Center for Corporate Finance and Investment Banking in the Wisconsin School of Business, according to a UW-Madison release.

Blank praised Lehman’s ability to serve in a time of transition.

“We are very fortunate to have someone of Michael’s caliber willing and ready to step in and provide stability during this period,” Blank said in the release. “His management experience at the highest levels of the technology industry make him well-suited to our needs.”

Lehman will replace current Vice Chancellor Darrell Bazzell, who will leave the university next month to take a similar position at the University of Texas at Austin.
