Returning students and incoming freshmen alike have no doubt
already noticed that many of the Madison Metro System's buses are
(still) brandishing the fully-wrapping advertisements. However,
much to the dismay of many Madison residents, the City Council
voted in early July to not only keep these ads around, but also to
double the number of ad-wrapped buses.

If there's one thing I've learned while attending this
university, it's that balance often equals success. College life
can get pretty overwhelming, and it's key to put a little variety
in the choices you make - who you hang out with, what you eat, how
much you sleep, how much you go out - balance in these areas often
makes existing problems disappear. Why is this relevant? The
Badgers' offense could benefit tremendously from a little variety -
balance between its rushing and passing game.

Following Sunday's overtime loss to North Dakota in the Midwest
Regional Finals, Wisconsin head coach Mike Eaves' tongue became

licking the NCAA logo on the Kohl Center ice.

Just two months ago, the Badgers played a crucial road game in
Texas. They were short-handed and down by one point with just
seconds left - someone needed to step up. Senior guard Michael
Flowers answered the call with a game-winning 3-point shot with two
seconds remaining, followed by a steal on the inbound to seal the
victory. This sequence embodied the heart and clutch play Flowers
has shown this year, keeping the Badgers focused on their goal for
another successful season.

The Badgers and their fans would like to forget their most

as the Minnesota Gophers visit the Kohl Center for the first time
this season.

Recent Wisconsin basketball teams are not known for winning in a

As the Kohl Center celebrates its 10-year anniversary this
month, the memories of past arenas in Wisconsin hockey become more
distant. Prior to the opening, Wisconsin hockey called the Dane
County Coliseum (now known as the Alliant Energy Center) its home.
The Kohl Center opened January 1998, and on Oct. 3 of that year,
Wisconsin hockey was finally ready for its first Kohl Center
matchup. Unfortunately, the Badgers suffered a 2-1 loss to Notre
Dame. Although life at the Kohl Center began with a loss, the
future held many memorable wins for Wisconsin.
