If I were to write an article about the history of Norwegian
dance, I would need to do two things: first, research my subject,
and then translate that research into writing that shows I have a
clear understanding of what it is I'm talking about.

What's annoying, dull and only used by people who are trying to
seem intelligent, but are actually proving they're glorified third

CHICAGO—After splitting the two games with Ohio State during the
regular season, the rubber match in the Big Ten Tournament
Championship did not go the UW men's basketball team's way. Ohio
State got out to an early lead and never looked back, steamrolling
UW en route to a 66-49 victory and a No. 1 seed in the NCAA
Tournament.

Badger fans say goodbye to Jason Chappell, Kammron Taylor and
Alando Tucker as the three seniors play in their final game at the
Kohl Center Saturday. Although head coach Bo Ryan's class of 2007
is a small one, each player has made his unique mark on UW
basketball. Whether it was a 3-pointer by Taylor, a thunderous dunk
by Tucker or a scrappy rebound and putback by Chappell, the seniors
have left Badger fans with many memorable moments.

The UW men's basketball team continued its red-hot 3-point
shooting and sent Penn State (1-11 Big Ten, 10-15 overall) home
with its 11th straight loss with a 75-49 victory Saturday at the
Kohl Center.

It's not that big a deal, I didn't get my arm cut off""just a
little bit of blood and a bruise""and six stitches""and a visit to
the hospital,"" shared Taking Back Sunday bassist Matt Rubano in
response to being knocked unconscious by a flying microphone
onstage two years ago. In addition to singer Adam Lazarra's
dangerous mic-lasso, Rubano is no stranger to unexpected popcorn
showers, a.m. water bucket drenchings and Lazarra's notorious Kama
Sutra abilities. And apparently the band wants more energy this
time around.

NASA had a good week. It isn't often that any government agency

the same year, let alone the same week.

The time to give thanks has come around once again. The aroma of
turkey, mashed potatoes and stuffing seemingly has the power to
make Americans across the country rejoice and give praise for all
they have. But this year, I've decided to scratch that approach and
explain the things I'm not so grateful for because, frankly, they
suck.

Saturday's Badger game against Buffalo is bittersweet. Wisconsin
fans have to say goodbye to their veteran players, but at the same
time they can remember the accomplishments UW's seniors reached and
the contributions they made both on and off the field.

Now that Democrats have won the power struggle for control of
Congress, the end to the problems in Iraq are all but assured.
Yeah, and I'm going to win the lottery. While both scenarios are
theoretically possible, the likelihood of such an ideal situation
developing is virtually nonexistent.

I'm never quite sure what to do with the pins, bumper stickers
and other political paraphernalia I accumulate after an election
season. Keeping them on makes me feel annoying. Taking them down
right away makes me feel disingenuous, like I was a fair-weather
fan all along. And so I keep them around, taking up space and
collecting dust in various places in my apartment.

Many things have changed since Penn State embarrassed Wisconsin
35-14 last season. Marquee players have left and the game does not
have the national implications it had when both teams boasted
top-20 rankings. Nonetheless, the matchup will still be one with
major Big Ten ramifications, as the two teams have combined to only
lose to Michigan, Notre Dame and Ohio State.
