The Wisconsin softball team (5-7 Big Ten, 26-15 overall) travels
to Michigan this weekend to face both Michigan State and No. 9
Michigan. Michigan State (2-5 Big Ten, 26-23 overall) will host a
two-game series, the first being played Friday night and the second
starting Saturday at noon. The Badgers will then face Michigan (8-2
Big Ten, 37-8 overall) in a doubleheader Sunday, with the first
pitch scheduled for 11 a.m.

The Wisconsin softball team (5-7 Big Ten, 26-15 overall)
defeated UW-Green Bay in an intrastate showdown Tuesday, winning
both games of the doubleheader. Game one was a close fought battle
as the Badgers won 2-1. The second game was another story, as
Wisconsin scored multiple runs in three innings, crushing the
Phoenix 10-1.

Samantha Polito and the Wisconsin softball team (5-7 Big Ten,
24-15 overall) will be traveling to face UW-Green Bay (4-6 Horizon
League, 12-16 overall) in a doubleheader starting today at 2 p.m.
Polito, the senior centerfielder with a team high batting average
of .368, will have the opportunity to build on her current 14 game
hitting streak. If she gets a hit in Game One of the series, she
will surpass Julie Borchard for the longest hitting streak in
Badger history.

facing conference foe No. 7 Northwestern (8-3, 33-10) in a two-day,
two-game series at the Goodman Diamond. These will be the last
games played on the Badgers' home field for the remainder of the
regular season. The first game will be played Friday night at 6
p.m. The first pitch of game two will be on Saturday at
noon.

seventh inning Tuesday night to provide the Wisconsin softball team

media at Camp Randall on Monday. She focused on the Badgers' big
win against Virginia on Sunday, as well as the Badgers upcoming
game in the semifinals of the WNIT. As the Badgers' host Western
Kentucky tomorrow night in the semis, they will look to continue
the momentum from Sunday's emotional come-from-behind win.

Heart and confidence are two ingredients essential to victories
during March Madness. The Wisconsin women's basketball team (22-12)
displayed both of these qualities as it fought back from a 14-point
deficit in the second half to triumph over Virginia (19-15) in the
quarterfinals of the Women's National Invitational Tournament at
the Kohl Center Sunday afternoon 84-78. The impressive record marks
a program-high for wins in a season by the Badgers.

The Wisconsin women's basketball team (21-12) moved on to the
Elite Eight of the Women's National Invitation Tournament after
holding off Kentucky (20-14) Thursday evening at the Kohl Center
67-61. This is the first postseason experience Wisconsin head coach
Lisa Stone has had with the Badger program, and so far her team has
shown that it is a strong contender for the WNIT championship
trophy.

After a 16-day break and a first-round bye, the Wisconsin
women's basketball team (20-12) kept its WNIT championship hopes
alive by defeating Arkansas State (21-13) in the second round
Sunday night at the Kohl Center 77-45. Junior sensation Jolene
Anderson scored a game-high 30 points, a career best for the guard.
Anderson also set the UW single-season scoring record by topping
601 points, previously set by alumna Barb Franke in 1996.

The Wisconsin women's basketball team (19-12) has earned its
third bid in program history to compete in the Women's National
Invitational Tournament (WNIT) with a first round bye. The Badgers
will host round two of the tournament at the Kohl Center Sunday at
4:30 p.m., playing the winner of Arkansas State and Murray State,
which will be decided tonight on Arkansas State's home
court.

afternoon, losing their final game of the regular season and Big
Ten play 103-93. With the loss, the Badgers (7-9 Big Ten, 18-11)
fell into a four-way tie for fifth place in conference standings
going into the Big Ten tournament, earning themselves the No. 7
seed.
