The No. 12 Indiana Hoosiers (5-1) have often been considered one of the Big Ten conference’s bottom-feeders in recent history. However, this year, Indiana has shocked fans of the Big Ten and college football as a whole by proving itself to be one of the conference’s elite teams.

No. 14 Wisconsin (4-4) team fell back to .500 this last week after being swept by Arizona State in brutal fashion, as the Sun Devils outscored the Badgers 11-6 over the series. The No. 19 Northwestern Wildcats (4-0) are surprisingly having one of their best seasons in decades. Coming into the 2020 season, Northwestern football was not in a good state. The 2020 Michigan Wolverines (1-2), a program that often lauds themselves as the winning-est program in college football history, has looked nothing of the sort this season. Coming into the 2019-20 season, Wisconsin men’s hockey garnered a lot of attention as a team that could potentially rise to the top of the Big Ten after six straight seasons of missing the NCAA Tournament. Tony Granato’s Badgers, however, failed to deliver on those expectations after falling to 14-20 and missing the tournament for the seventh season in a row.

Things were not looking good for Fighting Illini Head Coach Lovie Smith coming into 2019. Losing season after losing season – with no signature program wins – was putting the former NFL head coach as one of the most likely coaches to be fired after the season.
