The Wisconsin Badgers defeated the Western Michigan Broncos, 4-3, in the Nielsen Tennis Stadium Saturday afternoon. With the help of a match-securing victory by Sebastian Vile, the Badgers improved to 6-5 on the season, while the Broncos fell to 4-6.

The Wisconsin’s men’s tennis team (3-2 Big Ten, 11-7 overall) split their two home conference matches against ranked opponents this past weekend at Nielsen Tennis Stadium. The team got off to a great start by knocking off No. 44 Penn State (1-4, 11-9) on Friday, 4-3 in a tightly contested match. The Badgers scored an important win over a ranked opponent and improved to a perfect 10-0 at home this year.

The Badgers continued their dominating play at home and in doubles action but were again unable to break through and capture that elusive first win of the season away from Madison.

The University of Wisconsin men’s tennis team (5-4) bounced back from a tough road trip with a resounding 6-1 victory over in-state rival Marquette (5-2) on Friday at Nielsen Tennis Stadium. The Badgers dominated the match from the start, taking the doubles point early and then sweeping the first four singles matches to clinch the win.

The Wisconsin men’s tennis team (4-4) trekked out west this weekend for a pair of matches against formidable Pac-12 foes Oregon and Washington. However, the Badgers came away empty-handed, losing both matches 5-2 in tough fashion. The squad started out the road trip by taking on an Oregon team that head coach Danny Westerman called a “very good team” that also features both a top-20 singles player, Thomas Laurent, and doubles pair, Laurent and Cormac Clissold. Oregon brought a 4-2 record into the match, with their only two losses coming against No. 5 powerhouse Stanford and No. 23 Cal.

The Wisconsin men’s tennis team (2-2) struggled in their first weekend series away from home, as they dropped both of their matches. In their opening match of the ITA Kick-Off tournament in Stillwater, Okla., to 13th-ranked Mississippi State, UW fell 4-1. It was a tough start to the tournament for the Badgers, as they faced a nationally-ranked Bulldogs team that boasts four singles players ranked in the preseason top-125 rankings, including third-ranked Nuno Borges.
