On Monday, Fox News viewers were introduced to “Trumpy Bear,” a stuffed bear resembling the president in attire and hairstyle. The toy even shares Donald’s shark eyes, which appear devoid of any sense of judgement or morality.
On Saturday, October 27th 2018, 11 innocent people were killed in their place of worship. These are our thoughts:
Tuesday saw a record turnout at polls across Wisconsin and ended up flipping the House in favor of Democrats and the Senate in favor of Republicans. Wednesday morning saw the confirmation of Democratic candidate Tony Evers, ousting the incumbent Scott Walker and causing him to have what witnesses called a “fussy fussy temper tantrum” shortly before calling his mom and blubbering into the phone.

As the school home to famous creative thinkers such as Frank Lloyd Wright, Joyce Carol Oates, and Lorraine Hansberry, UW Madison stands as a strong supporter of the arts. The city of Madison in general is a cultural center of the Midwest. Local bands jam away in bars and restaurants on State Street. People are able to go to free art exhibits, which can contain anything from the counterculture pieces of the 1960s, to ancient African sculptures. It’s no wonder that this campus has inspired a certain few to express themselves so creatively.

As Election Day approaches, President Donald Trump has been seen on the campaign trail, endorsing various like-minded right-wing candidates across the country. His goal? To give more time to candidates than former President Barack Obama did in 2010. After all, his painstakingly competitive nature remains necessary in order to maintain a total disregard for any bipartisan roles he might be expected to fulfill as the representative of an entire country. It may be that the common conspiracy is true: The first of Trump’s “ten commandments” as president is to solidify a republican majority, or, in his own terms, to push out the “angry, ruthless, unhinged mob” that is the democratic party.

It’s blatantly obvious that the public education system is built around rationality and prioritization, so it is no shock that a recent study conducted by UW’s Political Science Department was focused around those very topics.
With Lake Mendota water levels on the rise, the ducks of Madison are now floating higher than ever: despite the misfortune brought on by the recent algaeplague found in the waters of their summer home, the ducks embrace climate change’s gift of an elevated eye level. Whether they find themselves closer to a concert on the terrace or to the breadcrumbs of an unsuspecting child, it is quite plausible that these waterfowl are gaining a new confidence.
Sun Prairie suburbian John McGeneric was very frustrated Monday afternoon when lane closures on the US 12/18 beltline caused him to detour through downtown Madison during rush hour. He sat, frustrated, with his fingers aggressively tapping the steering wheel to the beat of Don McLean’s “American Pie” as he scanned the wall of cars in front of him inexplicably stopped.

Ah, Bid Day. Hordes of sorority sisters traveling, speaking, singing and dancing in impenetrable packs — what’s so scary about that?
A disgruntled Starbucks factory employee set the coffee company’s main distribution center in Kent, Washington aflame on Thursday. Luckily for the company, Yankee Candle CEO Hope Margala happened to be passing by the factory on the highway as it was engulfed in flames. Not 12 hours after the frantic call for help to Kent police, Starbucks was proud to announce its partnership with Yankee Candle in their production of a brand-new fall scent, “Flaming Pumpkin Spice."
