The Wisconsin football team’s off-field changes have brought with them even greater differences on the field this season. Amidst excitement over a new head coach, new players and even the recently updated scoreboard, possibly the biggest change is the newly constructed defensive scheme.

Having known of and avidly followed the music of Matisyahu for the past four to five years, I can honestly say I took a special interest in discovering the source of inspiration behind his recent image revamp. For those of you readers who have no idea what I’m talking about, a Google search for current pictures of “Matisyahu”—real name Matthew Miller—will show you the clean-shaven man behind the mask of facial hair once so closely linked with his persona.

Well, it’s Valentine’s Day—yet another time of the year where
commercialism takes over our lives and television commercials shove
as many clichés down our throats as they possibly can. Hell, last
week I saw a commercial advising me to buy one of the “Twilight”
movies. I mean…really? What has this world come to?

April is a sexually exhausting month. I hope you've had the chance
to enjoy some of the important and inspiring events that have gone
on for Sexual Assault Awareness Month, Out and About Month,
National Day of Silence, Break the Silence Wisconsin and Sexual
Health Week. And before April comes to a close, I want to plug one
more event that's near and dear to my heart: STD Awareness
Month.

After a dismal year for the Dane County 911 Center - in which
public support and faith in the program plummeted - the opportunity

Though it would be at least another decade before I knew
Kosher"" as something more than a prefix for dill pickle spears and
table salt, by the age of six I had catalogued roughly one thousand
culinary misdeeds. Dividing the dinner plate into hermitically
sealed quarantine zones, I ordered around individual food groups
like the subjects of a fascist police state.

Most hardworking Americans seem to feel that their work ethic
entitles them to consume at astronomically high rates, even while
millions of hard working citizens of other nations can barely feed
themselves. This sense of entitlement is not only unwarranted, but
also immoral.

Like most UW students, 22-year-old Jeremy Schwach tries to keep

In October, \Simpsons"" creator Matt Groening told National
Public Radio that Fox News threatened to sue his cartoon over a
parody of the news network. Fox owner Rupert Murdoch, not being
crazy, put the kibosh down upon the attempt of one of his companies
to sue one of his shows. Like ""The Simpsons,"" Fox network
affiliate news programs have begun to distance themselves from
their basic-cable big brother. And even now, even as Fox News is
viewed as a paradigm for biased news agencies, its viewership far
exceeds its competitors. So, with little surprise, a backlash has
begun from both the left and the fans of actually fair and balanced
media.

For the majority of the population, junior high is normally not
considered the most pleasant time of life. This is a period of
cliques and self-consciousness in which an elite crowd rules the
school. Arrogant teachers and principals make-believe they are
relating to students, and parents don't have the faintest clue what
daily life truly consists of from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

If not for having read and enjoyed the original Michael Crichton
novel, I would have walked into \Timeline"" expecting the terrible
acting and unintentionally funny dialogue. In fact, if not for
having read the book, I wouldn't have gone to see it at all. I lost
any and all expectations for a faithful adaptation when I heard it
was starring Paul Walker (""Fast and the Furious"" and its pitiful
sequel) and helmed by Richard Donner (the ""Lethal Weapon""
series).

In 2000, the Wisconsin men's soccer team had its best season
since Head Coach Kalekeni Banda took over in 1997. Going 10-9-1,
Wisconsin placed fourth in the Big Ten and held its own against
nationally ranked teams like Marquette and Yale. However, the
Badgers' inconsistencies on the field plagued the team, and they
lost to Ohio State (a team they had beaten earlier in the year) in
the Big Ten Tournament.
