Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007 student members of the Campus Anti-War Network, marched from Bascom Hill to the Engineering School’s biannual career fair in protest of Halliburton recruiters. The students took part in a protest against the recruiters, claiming war-profiteers had no place on campus. The protest took place near the 40-year anniversary of a protest of Dow Chemical recruiters on the UW-Madison campus during the Vietnam War, which ended in police beating protesters with clubs.
