Senior Badger basketball guard Michael Flowers returned to the practice court Wednesday, reappearing just as quietly as he left after taking a medical leave of absence Oct. 18.
“He’s back on the floor and we practiced,” head coach Bo Ryan simply said.
The team did not hint at exactly Flowers left, but it does appear he will be ready to go for the season, and he may even play in Sunday’s exhibition against Edgewood.
“Anybody that’s on the floor should be ready to play,” Ryan said when asked about whether or not Flowers would be ready.
The senior guard practiced Wednesday as if he had not missed any time. He hit his team’s first two shots—one of which was a three—in a full-court scrimmage and added a couple steals.

The coaching staff will be holding a walk-on tryout Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Nicholas-Johnson pavilion adjacent to the Kohl Center.
The UW Athletic Department sent out an e-mail to students Saturday inviting them to the tryout. Registration is now closed.
The team currently has 15 roster spots filled, but the NCAA allows 16 players. Ryan indicated Wednesday that none of the current players will be replaced even if there are a number of talented options at the tryout.
“We do have at least one spot,” Ryan said. “If two or three guys are really good, I don’t think we are going to bump any of the guys that have already been out here.”
The walk-on spot will be an extra body in practice on the scout team and a likely candidate for a redshirt. Redshirts are allowed to play in exhibition games, of which UW has two in the next seven days.
Ryan said his assistants would be in charge of judging the talent.
“I let my assistants do it,” he said. “I think they are looking for the gem on campus, like that stone that was not on Earth.”
