Bite of the Week

Pastor Pork Taco

Taqueria Guadelajara, 1033 S. Park St.

The Scoop: You think you’ve had a taco, but you’re wrong. Everything about this little delight screams freshness and authenticity—the homemade tortillas, long-marinated spicy pork, and bright taste of cilantro make this taqueria a slice of Mexican heaven.

Health implications: You can taste the hand-ground corn in the tortilla, the meat couldn’t be leaner, and a little salsa adds loads of cancer-fighting antioxidants.

Value: Why bother with a fast-food knockoff when you can have the real thing for only $1.75?

Malt-O-Meal Cereals

There are some times when a brand name is the only way to go. Breakfast is not one of those times. Pour a bowl of Coco Roos or Marshmallow Mateys and spend your savings on some really luxurious milk.
