UWPD requests info for assault case

By: Erica Pelzek /The Daily Cardinal  - December 11, 2006

The UW-Madison Police Department still has not taken any suspects into custody for the Observatory Drive abduction and sexual assault that occurred Nov. 29.

UWPD sent University Housing residents who live in Lakeshore dorms an e-mail Thursday requesting anyone with further information regarding the incident to contact the Department.

“Through the investigation, it appears there were several people in the area at the time of the incident. The police are seeking to interview any people who were in the 1500 block of Observatory Drive or outside Schlichter Hall between 7:50 p.m. and 8:20 p.m. or between 9:00 p.m. and 9:20 p.m,” the e-mail read. “If you were in that area between those times, please contact Detective Pete Grimyser at pggrimyser@wisc.edu.”

According to police reports, the victim was forced into a dark car by an unidentified black male suspect, who was described as having a chunky build, thin mustache and shaved head. He was wearing a puffy coat.
