Ikegwuonu, Crooks return

By: Chris Lindeke /The Daily Cardinal  - September 20, 2007

Tight end Andy Crooks and cornerback Jack Ikegwuonu practiced Wednesday and are set to return to action Saturday against Iowa, head coach Bret Bielema announced Wednesday.

“Andy looked really good out there today, got a lot of reps yesterday,” Bielema said. “We told him if you practice Tuesday and Wednesday, you’re in, and that’s what he did.”

Crooks, a senior captain, had been out the first three games this season due to a hamstring injury. Sophomore Garrett Graham stepped in nicely for the injured Crooks, catching two touchdowns in the first two games of the season.

Ikegwuonu, a junior, left last Saturday’s game against The Citadel with an upper thigh injury on the first play from scrimmage. Although he was somewhat limited in Tuesday’s practice, Bielema said he looked good Wednesday and is ready to go against Iowa.
