After a successful career at Wisconsin, running back Montee Ball has now plead guilty to a domestic abuse charge and will serve two consecutive 30-day sentences.

Montee Ball pleads guilty to domestic abuse, sentenced to 60 days in jail

Former Wisconsin running back Montee Ball was sentenced to 60 days in jail after pleading guilty to misdemeanor domestic battery on Friday, according to Channel 3000.

He was arrested back in February for battering his girlfriend, and a month later another woman accused him of similar violence. In April, he was arrested again for a felony bail jumping by drinking alcohol in a bar, violating his bond conditions.

The Badgers’ all-time leader in touchdowns scored will be allowed work-release during his two consecutive 30-day sentences which will be followed by probation. His NFL career is likely over as his legal trouble continues and he awaits further sentencing.

If Ball meets the conditions of his probation, he can have his battery conviction expunged, according to the Wisconsin State Journal. As part of those conditions, he must go through domestic violence treatment and consume no alcohol, a bond parameter he was unable to follow previously.
