Woman bites, kicks police officers outside Red Sushi Grill

Madison police officers arrested a 40-year-old woman on the 100 block of King Street for disorderly conduct and bail jumping Monday evening, according to a Madison Police Department incident report.

The suspect, Heather M. Dubeau, reportedly attempted to steal restaurant customers’ purses in multiple downtown establishments.

At the Red Sushi Grill, Dubeau tried walking out with a restaurant patron’s purse, but was confronted by an employee. Dubeau then began swearing angrily, disturbing nearby diners, MPD public information officer Joel DeSpain wrote in the report.

When responding officers took Dubeau into custody, she did not go quietly, according to DeSpain. Cursing and attempting to bite and kick at officers, Dubeau was then also charged for battery of law officers and resisting arrest.

Dubeau has a history of similar crimes in the Madison area, DeSpain wrote in the report.
