When students register their computers with ResNet, they agree to the Appropriate Use Policy, which contains information about file sharing and bandwidth usage.
Students are allowed 5 GB of bandwidth in a 7-day period and are warned after they reach 4GB. Once they top the limit, their connection is slowed to a 56K dial-up speed.

Second offense: speed decreased to 56K for 14 days for off-campus traffic
Third offense: speed decreased to 56K for 28 days and the student must meet with IT and Resident Life staff
Fourth offense: student limited to campus-only traffic
