After canceling evening classes due to the weather, UW-Madison announced late Wednesday night that school will resume Thursday morning.

According to a University Communications release, students who feel they cannot travel safely to class should contact their professors about making up missed class time. The release urged faculty to be “flexible” with all such requests.

The release also stated that “Employees driving to campus are advised to use their own discretion and common sense, but are required to use accrued holiday, vacation or compensation time to cover any absences.”

The City of Madison declared a snow emergency early Wednesday. Madison residents who park on the street tonight must park on the odd house numbered side of the street. Cars parked on the street Thursday should be parked on the even numbered side.

The Snow Emergency will remain in effect until at least 7 a.m. Friday.
